question about water pumps in hydroponic systems

i have a hydroponic system this time i am using soil in pots i have a water pump drip and a timmer ive set the timmer for lights but how long do i set the timmer for the water pump

Drip System

This is an interesting question...a drip system will have a nozzle at the end of the drip hose that will drip at a certain preset rate.

That will determine how long to drip before shutting off the system. Start with a half hour on and an hour off in cycles and check the soil - it should be damp and not wet when the timer lets it start to drip again.
